Programs for Students

Ashbrook Scholar Program is a rigorous and top-rated academic program for undergraduate students at Ashland University. Students in the program must pursue a major or minor in political science, 历史, international political studies or integrated social studies. 的y receive a variable annual renewable scholarship to Ashland University.

Students study the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, as well as everything from Aristotle to the Federalist Papers and the speeches and deeds of America’s greatest statesmen. Ashbrook Scholars develop a deep understanding of America's founding principles, engage in private conversations with distinguished visiting speakers and participate in internships tailored to their interests. 的 Ashbrook Scholar Program is an old-fashioned liberal arts education that prepares students for a career in any field.

Programs for Teachers

Through our unique Master of Arts in American History and Government and our live online graduate courses, Ashbrook offers American 历史 and government teachers the broadest and deepest training available anywhere. Supplementing traditional teacher training programs that focus on educational theory, Ashbrook makes it possible for teachers to learn from some of the leading 历史 and government scholars in the country. Ashbrook has created a national university with unrivaled capacity for deepening teachers’ understanding and appreciation of America.

Programs for Citizens

Ashbrook Center hosts events and lectures that encourage citizens to develop a deeper understanding of the principles upon which our nation was founded. President Ronald Reagan inaugurated the Center at the first annual Ashbrook Memorial Dinner in 1983 and this event continues to feature some of the world’s most noted political dignitaries.  Ashbrook hosts several other luncheon lectures and colloquia throughout the year, featuring well-known speakers who examine current policy issues in the light of America’s constitutional principles.
